With a limited supply of unsold tickets, one Toyota Tundra remains in the $2 Nebraska Lottery Truck$ & Buck$ Scratch game.
Introduced in May 2009, the Truck$ & Buck$ Scratch game features the 2009 Toyota Tundra Rock Warrior 4×4 Double Cab Flex Fuel truck as its top prize, as well as $606,000 in cash and Ethanol-enriched fuel prizes.
The entire inventory of Truck$ & Buck$ tickets has now been shipped to Nebraska Lottery retailers. To date, three Toyota Tundras have been claimed by Nebraska Lottery players, and one remains to be won in the game. Dwayne Coleman of Omaha was the first winner of a 2009 Toyota Tundra Rock Warrior 4×4 Double Cab Flex Fuel truck on June 12. Bryan Brogren of Lincoln claimed the second Toyota Tundra from the Truck$ & Buck$ Scratch game on June 26. Travis Anderson of Lincoln claimed the third Toyota Tundra on August 10.
The truck prize is valued at $44,000, which includes $1,227 for costs associated with ownership and state and federal withholding paid by the Nebraska Lottery of $2,200 and $11,000, respectively. The odds of winning the top prize in Truck$ & Buck$ are 1 in 150,000, while the overall odds of winning any prize are 1 in 3.61.
In front of a large crowd of fairgoers, 15 semi-finalists in the Truck$ & Buck$ Second Chance Tundra Giveaway gathered on September 6 at the Nebraska State Fair to find out who would drive away with a 2009 Toyota Tundra Flex Fuel Blackshirt Edition truck.
After a series of elimination rounds, two finalists remained in the giveaway drawing. Rodney Hengelfelt of Stromsburg and Arlene Janata of Howells took turns selecting keys from a covered container. Only one of the six keys in the container would start the Toyota Tundra. After two attempts by each finalist, Hengelfelt made his third attempt to start the truck. With a roar the Tundra started, surprising both the crowd and the truck’s new owner.
In a drawing on September 2, five semi-finalists were chosen for the Truck$ & Buck$ Second Chance Tundra Giveaway. These finalists are:
Vicki Budnick of York
Arlene Janata of Howells
Neva Boyd of Grand Island
Bud Steinshouer of Holdrege
